Furfural Plant Opens
After Cyclone Ului delayed the event.

PSM Biorefinery

The PSM (Proserpine Sugar Mill) Biorefinery’s long awaited furfural plant is set to be formally opened on Friday 7 May 2010. The plant, which was completed last year, was scheduled to be officially opened in March this year but the arrival of Cyclone Ului delayed the event. PSM is awaiting the cane season to start at the end of June before commissioning of the furfural plant can re-start.

In the meantime the Indian SupraYield plant has commenced the commissioning phase. They have already done a small number of runs. Representatives from PSM were onsite for these run. More (Whitsuday Times) …
